The Rainbow trend continues. On Baselworld Rolex’s hottest launch might not have been the GMT Batman with the Jubilee bracelet; instead, we think it may have been the Rolex Day-Date Rainbow 36mm (Ref. 128345RBR).
We have seen some rainbow – or rainbow related – releases this year at the SIHH but, for sure, none of them have been as good as the Day-Date. This multicolored watch is available in white gold, yellow gold and rose gold and comes with a price tag of USD 124,250. The Day-Date also includes the iconic president bracelet which was created in 1956 for the launch of the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date.
The self-winding mechanical movement of this piece is newly introduced by the brand and has been entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex for a superlative level of performance – 3255.
Well, let’s come to the fun part, the rainbow part. As you can see the hour indexes are set with rectangular gemstones in a rainbow color order. The dial of course still indicates the day of the week spelt out in full. Worn by many world leaders, the Day-Date is available with a bespoke day display in a wide choice of languages.
