Bugatti Chiron Sport – Performance Meets Luxury

Bugatti developed the Chiron Sport for customers wanting an even sportier driving experience. And we’re delighted to support one of our collectors in selling his one-of-a-kind, made to order Bugatti Chiron Sport*.

Unveiled at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show, the Chiron Sport is Bugatti’s stunning reinterpretation of the ultimate super sports car. Worth an additional CHF 600,000 above the regular model, this super sports car offers nice extras. Lightweight components and a firmer chassis ensure even more direct handling and impressive agility without compromising on the Chiron’s uniquely luxurious character. Bugatti has also developed a dynamic handling package and reduced the weight of its car by about 18 kilograms. As a result, the Chiron Sport has become even more responsive and corners even faster.

Bugatti has left the 8.0-liter W16 engine with 1500 hp and 1600 Nm of torque untouched. Also known as the W engine, the twin-V engine with two banks of VR8 cylinders has eight liters of displacement and four turbochargers. At low engine speeds, only two turbochargers operate at around 3800 rpm, the other two are switched on when the Chiron Sport goes beyond that point, which allow the mid-engine to deliver all of its power on all four wheels.

The Bugatti Chiron’s top speed is electronically limited to 420 km/h ex works. However, this limit can be deactivated on request.

In the meantime, there are various videos of drives well beyond 420 km/h which is why the Bugatti Chiron can at least unofficially be considered the fastest production car in the world (at least until the Chiron Sport 300+ is delivered (click here to read the full article). The Molsheim based car manufacturer claims the top speed is 463 km/h. There are four driving modes: “EB” (for “Ettore Bugatti”, automatic mode), “Lift” (increases ground clearance for driving over edges, up to 50 km/h), “Handling” (for the racetrack) and “Motorway”.
Fun fact about the Chiron Sport: it is the first series-production car that offers windshield wipers made of carbon.

The characteristic exterior of the Chiron Sport is tailored to the dynamic handling package with firmer suspension and the new Dynamic Torque Vectoring function. Expressive design elements give the interior and exterior an irresistible sporty look while the main differences between the appearance of the Chiron Sport and the standard version are a new wheel design and the new four-pipe exhaust system.

The Bugatti Chiron, which is named after the Monegasque racing driver, Louis Chiron, is limited to only 500 units with a base price of around 3.5m CHF. The supercar is a combination of ultimate performance, luxury and everyday usability. Well done Bugatti!
